A youth checking account is designed for teens to safely save, spend, and manage their money. It offers features like a debit card, online and mobile banking, and no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements, along with tools for learning about budgeting and financial responsibility.
Who can open a youth checking account?
Teens aged 11-17 can open a youth checking account, with a parent or legal guardian required to be a joint owner.

How do I open a youth checking account?
You can open the account online or at any branch. Bring government-issued IDs for both you and your parent or guardian, along with your Social Security or ITIN number.

- Transfer from a Joint Owner’s Account: Joint owners can use our mobile app to set up transfers, whether for regular allowances or one-time needs.
- Transfer from Other Banks or Credit Unions: Use your account number and our routing number (321280237) to set up transfers from other institutions.

Is there a minimum balance requirement?
There’s no minimum balance requirement after opening the account, but you’ll need $25 to get started. We aim to make it easy to manage your money without worrying about maintaining a specific balance.

Yes! We offer youth savings accounts for ages 0-17, which help you learn about saving and earning interest. Every checking account includes a Regular Shares Savings Account with no monthly charges, plus we’ll deposit the first $5 for you. A $5 minimum balance is required for savings accounts.
