A youth checking account is designed for teens to safely save, spend, and manage their money. It offers features like a debit card, online and mobile banking, and no monthly fees or minimum balance requirements, along with tools for learning about budgeting and financial responsibility.

Teens aged 11-17 can open a youth checking account, with a parent or legal guardian required to be a joint owner.

You can open the account online or at any branch. Bring government-issued IDs for both you and your parent or guardian, along with your Social Security or ITIN number.

Funding the account is easy. You can:
  • Transfer from a Joint Owner’s Account: Joint owners can use our mobile app to set up transfers, whether for regular allowances or one-time needs.
  • Transfer from Other Banks or Credit Unions: Use your account number and our routing number (321280237) to set up transfers from other institutions.

Yes! You can access your account online or via our mobile app to check balances, track spending, and deposit checks.

There’s no minimum balance requirement after opening the account, but you’ll need $25 to get started. We aim to make it easy to manage your money without worrying about maintaining a specific balance.

Youth checking accounts have no monthly maintenance fees. However, some services, like using non-network ATMs, may incur fees. Check our fee schedule for more details.
When you turn 18, your account transitions to an adult account, and you won’t need a joint owner anymore. If you’d like to remove the joint ownership, just contact us.
