Corporate Governance
Sierra Pacific FCU is organized under its federal charter and by-laws as a financial cooperative serving its members' financial needs. A Board of Directors is elected on a rotating basis during the annual meeting. Each eligible member has one vote, regardless of the number of shares held. The Board presently consists of nine members.
The other member volunteer committee include the Supervisory Committee. The Supervisory Committee arranges for the annual audit and conducts its own audits and analyses.
Board of Directors
Chair: Bruce Harvey
Bruce is the Chief Investment Officer for Paradigm Capital Management, a Fee-Only investment advisory firm, based in Reno, Nevada. The firm manages pension plans, trusts and business and individual portolios. He has an extensive background in business, including financial analysis for several major corporations in the California Silicon Valley. Bruce holds a B.S. and M.S. in Applied Economics.
Vice Chair: Don Ross
Don Ross is a shareholder in the law firm of Woodburn and Wedge, Nevada's oldest law firm, where he practices primarily in the area of estate planning. He holds an MBA from the University of Utah, a JD, cum laude, from Brigham Young University, and a Masters of Laws degree in taxation from the University of Florida.
Treasurer: Jim Hunting
Jim serves as President and CEO, since January 2001, and has presided over significant expansion of the institution in terms of services, members and assets. He holds an MBA, is Vice Chair of the Washoe Country Debt Commission, and serves on the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Regional Alliance for Downtown.
Secretary: Richard Melillo
Rich brings a significant managerial background in safety training and organizational development to the Board. As Secretary, Rich brings his years of business experience to the Secretary's position, which in a financial institution is critical to maintaining and documenting Board actions.
Member: Doug Gapp
Doug is Engineering Manager for Southwest Gas Corporation. He served in increasingly responsible positions in the engineering area at SWG, both in operations and on key staff support teams.
Member: John Nunn
John serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Business Services at the University of Nevada. He is a graduate of the University and has signiificant management experience in utility regulatory affairs.
Member: Virgil Aramini
Virgil has nearly 40 years of experience in corporate finance and accounting as well as decades of experience with Credit Unions. He has been very active in community affairs including chairing Ducks Unlimited.
Member: Robert Fitch
Robert has served on the Board since 1999 and has extensive management experience in regulation and operations. He is the previous commanding general of the Nevada Air Guard and is currently Director, Northern Nevada Distribution Design Services for NV Energy.
Member: Frank Stanbrough
Frank presently serves as the Director of Corporate Human Resources for Southwest Gas Corporation. He is a graduate of UNLV and is a CPA, and has held a variety of management positions at SWG, including in accounting, budgeting, and corporate developments.
